Palo Alto County Fairgrounds - Emmetsburg

 

Located on the south side of Emmetsburg. The Palo Alto County Fairgrounds will host the Fourth Annual BBQ Contest.    

The perimeter of the park will provide greenspace for competition.  In addition to being on the fairgrounds there is an air conditioned bath house with showers.

IOWA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BBQ CONTEST

The St. Patrick's Association and Emmetsburg Fire Association are pleased to bring the Fifth Annual KCBS event to Emmetsburg, Iowa.  Prizes totaling over $5,000.00 will be awarded for the BBQ Contest with a progressive payout after 30 teams.  A warm July weekend, Barbeque smell in the air and an awesome band performing will be a great way to enjoy the summer.  Check out the Calendar of events below to see what other events are going on over the weekend.  If interested in competing or playing games, click on the ENTRY FORMS tab above and print out your forms to enter.

Come on down Friday night and see all the amazing set ups that the many different teams have to compete with. This year is our First Real Pork Contest after being chosen to be one of the 14 contest this year. It will be broke down into two different categories Pork Chop Ancillary and a Kids 'Que. The Kids 'Que is for ages 2-15 years old and is a fun and safe way to get kids involved in outdoor cooking. (entry forms and rules can be found under the forms tab) Awards to follow. 

 

Join us Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. with our Vendor Show beginning with many local Direct Sales Tables set up.(Vendors list to come.)

Get the gang together and bring in the tractor to enjoy our 4th Annual Tractor Ride which will leave the Fairgrounds at 8:00 a.m. and return around 12:00 p.m. after the tractors get back feel free to check them out over by the Car Show.

Bring the kids and come down to the Palo Alto County Fairgrounds as we will have many kids games and activities taking place beginning at 10:00 a.m.. We will be having water activities so be sure to pack the swimming suits and towels!! Bring the kids down and enjoy a family fun day! Sponsored by

At 3:30 p.m. Our 5th Annual Bean Bags Tournament Warm Up's will begin and tournament starting at 4:30 p.m..  Entry Fee of $20 (non-refundable) per team if paid by July 15, 2021; late entries will be $25 (non-refundable) per team until the tournament is full.  We will have 16 all male teams and 16 co-ed teams.  If a pair of ladies would like to participate, they are more than welcome to in the co-ed bracket.  (Must be 18 years of age.) 

We will be having LIVE Music  beginning at 5:00 with Randy Swanson sponsored by Mehan Auction Company.

Main act will be One Layne Band will be taking the stage at 8:00 to entertain everyone for the rest of the night!!!

Chicken:  12:00 p.m.

Ribs:        12:30 p.m.

Pork:          1:00 p.m.

Brisket        1:30 p.m.
